Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. She was born the 13th of December, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift has been a singer/songwriter from the pop/country genre since the age of 20. Her tales about romance and love at first sight have gained her widespread popularity throughout the 21st century. Swift was interested in the music scene from a very early childhood. She quickly moved up to the top of the ladder, beginning performing in theaters for children and eventually performing before crowds of people. Swift was 11 years old when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. In the following year, she began writing songs and picked up the guitar. Taking her inspiration from popular country artists like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original material that reflected her experiences of tween alienation. Swift was forced to move from Pennsylvania with her parents and moved to Tennessee, Hendersonville. she turned 13 to devote more time to the wooing of artists from the genre of country music in Nashville.
